"Steptoe Homestead under the Stars"
Once a vibrant home that housed a farming family, it now is just a reminder of days gone by.  It’s past majesty is captured this evening under a clear starry night in the Palouse. Unfortunately this house has passed on as it has been demolished and removed from its home.  It is sad to see these old buildings disappear from the landscape of the Palouse.
"Ready for Restoration"
This stately old barn is located just outside of Colfax, Washington on SR 272.  It stands on the top of this hill decaying and begging for a restoration.  It retains its beauty through its years of patina.  Hopefully someday soon a restoration may start.  Update, the roof of this old barn has been replaced adding life to it.  Hopefully it will remain standing for many years to come.
"Govan Schoolhouse 2"
The Govan school was built in 1905. It was staffed by two teachers. It remained in operation until 1942 when it was consolidated with the Wilbur district. This old building is located just outside of the town of Almira in Lincoln County, Washington.  If you look carefully you can see it from Highway 2 off in the distance.
"The Old Barn in the Green Wheatfield"
This  old barn near Colfax, Washington seems to lose a few more boards every winter, yet when spring comes and the wheat turns green it stands magnificently contrasting itself with the green wheat and the blue sky.

"The Extinct Barn"
I photographed this old barn in June of 2016.  What you don't see is that the owner is in the process of tearing it down.  I returned a month later and found no trace the old barn had ever existed.  It is unfortunate it could not be saved.
"Eric's Model A"
This old Model A Ford Truck is being preserved by a  man in Shelton, Washington, who has a passion for old vehicles.  He restores them so that their life and heritage is preserved.
"Chenois Creek Barn"
The Chenois Creek Barn in Grays Harbor County Washington was built in 1890 and remains in use today.

Swan Valley Schoolhouse"
This image was captured by my daughter and I as we were traveling to Jackson Hole Wyoming. This beautiful old building still stands decaying on a magnificent green prairie near Swan Valley Idaho beckoning passing artists.

"Fill it up with Oil and Check the Gas"
This old gas station and store has not been open for many years.  As it sits in the middle of the Oregon desert along Highway 97, it continues to age and lose its paint.  As it ages it becomes even more beautiful. This old gas station can tell many stories about the cars and people who stopped for oil, gas, and a bottle of Orange Crush.
"The Old Windmill through the Window"
I found this old dilapidated home in Eastern Washington and just outside was the windmill and well house for that old home.  As I pondered making this image my imagination ran wild with what it must have been like to live here and work the land as the home's owners once did.
"The Old Barn on Shahan Road"
This old barn is one of the many old barns that have been neglected but still stand in Whitman County, Washington. On the day I captured this image, the light and the colors were ideal.  I had photographed this old barn a few years earlier, but this is my favorite.
"No More Mail"
This old Palouse homestead has been long abandoned.  It’s mailbox uprooted and covered with bullet holes, no more mail will be delivered here.
